This has been a big year of growth! Since launching our non-profit officially in 2020, we have raised more than $800,000 to support artists! This includes project-related funding to help with creative development, workshops and performances, touring, and album recording, along with aid that went directly into the pockets of artists for creative projects, urgent needs, and COVID relief support. Check out John Schaefer's Completely Opinionated Top Ten of 2022 from New Sounds, which features two Unmanageable-supported projects: Leyla McCalla’s Breaking the Thermometer and the composer collective Rachel Grimes, Angélica Negrón, Shara Nova, Caroline Shaw, Sarah Kirkland Snider along with A Far Cry in a stunning recording of Carolyn Forche’s The Blue Hour.
Unmanageable provided fundraising and project management support for both projects, and we’re thrilled to see them thriving in the world!
Unmanageable had a fantastic 2022. We are so grateful to all of our artists, supporters, allies, partners, and networks in the work we have done collectively to create a scaffolding for incredible art to thrive in the world.
